Become a Volunteer

Description:

• Help organize, clean and maintain Clothing Cottage, kennel and shelter
• Sort clothing donations that are brought to the shelter and determine which items should be kept and which items should be thrown away (anything too worn to wear, used underwear, etc.)
• Separate clothing by size, age group and gender and place in appropriate area in cottage
• Clean and maintain kennel and donation center
• When needed help in cleaning common living areas in the shelter.

Qualifications:

• Organizational skills
• Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of both gender
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with other volunteers, staff and residents
• Ability to prioritize tasks and utilize resources effectively
• Ability to show caring and empathy toward survivors of domestic violence

Requirements:

• Volunteer application online (signed confidentiality form and volunteer agreement)
• Recognize, Respond and Refer (RRR) training register here
• Background check
• CORE-Competency training held quarterly
• Interview with Facilities Manager
